New Adoption Hours -- Thursday July 15th, 2010
Visit our friendly felines at the Florida Mall PETCO 7 days a week. We have a variety of kitties. Call us at 407-982-8530 to schedule an appointment to meet a kitty Mon-Wed evenings, or visit us Thurs night from 6-8.
More furry friends are at the E. Colonial PETCO location. Call us to schedule an appointment weeknights or stop by on Saturdays between 11am-4pm. During PETCO's adoption events, held the last weekend of the month, we will hold adoptions at the E. Colonial location on Sunday from 11am-2pm. Please keep in mind, this is only during adoption events and only at the E. Colonial location.
We hope that these extended adoption opportunities will encourage you to stop by, interact with our cats, and take home your new feline companion.
To help expedite the adoption process, we encourage you to complete an online screening form and follow up with either a call or email to floridafeline@gmail.com.
Note: All cats are spayed/neutered, tested for feline leukemia and FIV, have received their FVRCP and rabies vaccines. They also receive routine dewormer and flea treatments. We cannot guarantee the health of our kitties, but we do our best to present you with a healthy cat at the time of adoption. Adoption fees are $75 for cats over 6 months, and $100 for kittens under 6 months. At this time we are only accepting cash payments for adoption fees, but paypal donations are always welcome online. Grand Re-Opening -- Monday July 20th, 2009
Starting this Friday E. Colonial PETCO has their Grand Re-Opening this weekend. Come enjoy the new store, with a new layout, shiny floors and lots of sales. Also come check out our kitties that are going to be up for adoption.
Picture Event -- Friday July 17th, 2009
Friday 12-8, Saturday 10-6, Sunday 10-6. The Picture People will be at the Florida Mall location taking pictures of you and your loved one. If you are interested, please call 407-251-4211 and schedule your appointment or stop by the grooming salon and make an appointment. We would love to get copies of you and the kitty that you adopted!
New Adoption Venue -- Saturday July 11th, 2009
Starting 7/11 we are moving into the E. Colonial PETCO. Thanks to the PETCO Foundation and local support, we are able to send kitties to the store for adoption. We have kitties there every day. We need help from volunteers to keep them clean and to play with them. Come see us Saturday afternoon from 2-5 and check out who we have with us!
Fosters Needed!!!! -- Tuesday May 12th, 2009
As with all rescue, we are in need of foster homes. We have lots of cats, and a few litters of kittens that are looking for foster parents. You are responsible for providing food, litter, day to day needs, and lots of love and TLC. We pay for their medical appointments. You bring them to adoptions and their medical appointments. If you are only in town for a few months, are a student in college and don't know where you're going to be next year, or just want a companion without being financially responsible for the medical care, please consider fostering. Anything from a bottle baby that needs to be fed around the clock, to a litter of 3-6 kittens that need a place to grow up and learn to love, to an adult cat or two that just wants a warm place in the sun. We have it all, and we're looking for you!
New Cat Room! -- Saturday May 2nd, 2009
Today marks the official grand opening of our cat room. Although we're still looking for carpet, cat furniture, and other donations to make it homey, our kitties are now relaxing in the enclosed bird room. There is room for them to run and roam. Potential adopters are encouraged to sit in there and interact with their new kitty. Toys, food, bedding, any donations are greatly appreciated to make this room a success. So far we're off to a great start with a generous donation from PETCO of a lovely 5' cat tree and the coolest automatic laser pointer ever. Stop by and say hello, we're there every Saturday from 11-2.
Larger Adoption Center! -- Tuesday April 28th, 2009
We are moving into the "bird room" at the Florida Mall. The birds are flying away and the cats are prowling the room. Stop by and check out the progress as we clean up, move some furniture and carpeting in, and add the fun!!!
